Not every bathroom needs to be demolished to feel new.
For Talya and her family in Currumbin Waters, their main bathroom had become dated, but it was still perfectly functional. After recently renovating their ensuite, another full bathroom renovation simply wasn't within the budget.
Rather than spend $35,000-$40,000 replacing a bathroom that still worked well, they chose bathroom resurfacing to achieve the fresh, modern look they wanted while avoiding the cost, disruption and unnecessary demolition.

Goal
Like many homeowners, Talya loved the layout of the bathroom but no longer loved how it looked.
The wall and floor tiles made the space feel dated, but replacing everything didn't make financial sense after recently completing an ensuite renovation.
The family also wanted to avoid the disruption that comes with a full bathroom renovation. With two young children living in the home, keeping life as normal as possible during the project was important.
Our Approach
We resurfaced the existing bathroom wall tiles, giving the room a clean, modern finish without removing perfectly functional surfaces.
Alongside the resurfacing work, we also helped connect the family with trusted trades for their new floor tiles and benchtop installation, allowing the project to come together with a consistent overall look.

The little details
One detail we particularly enjoyed helping with was the mirror.
Originally, Talya planned to simply replace it after the resurfacing was complete. After discussing the options together, we suggested installing a feature wall panel with a new round LED mirror in matte black to match the existing fixtures.
It solved the issue of the wall behind the old mirror while creating a feature that suited the updated bathroom beautifully.
Planning around family life
Because this was the family's main bathroom, careful planning was essential.
The owners remained in the home throughout the project with their children while we completed the work.
To minimise disruption, we completely enclosed and isolated the bathroom from the rest of the house. Our exhaust system was installed to help manage dust, airborne particles and fumes while we worked, allowing the family to comfortably stay in the property.
The resurfacing was also carefully scheduled alongside the new floor tiling so there wasn't unnecessary downtime between trades.
Results
The finished bathroom now feels bright, fresh and contemporary without the enormous cost of a complete renovation.
More importantly, the family achieved the look they wanted while preserving a bathroom that was still structurally sound.
